It has been one year since I started my record label and music publishing company! I cannot believe it has been a year, it feels like a lifetime. Studio Sarah Records and Studio Sarah Music Publishing are humming along nicely, but they have been much more work than I imagined.
Truthfully, it has been more than hard work with my companies. Hard work is only the half of it. This past year has been more than anything, emotionally challenging. Constant risk taking, faith, and hope. Constant learning, adopting, and evangelizing. How I’ve been able to keep faith in myself day in and day out is a wonder to me. Before I had these companies, a band, and employees relying on me, I used to get down all the time, thinking I “couldn’t do it.” But now I’m not just doing it for myself. I’ve built something that people believe in, and somehow I’ve been able to rise to the challenge.
As with most things in life, this past year I’ve wondered why certain things take so long! But, I’ve learned that things take time and that planning way ahead is essential. It is better for something to take longer and be done right than to rush the process.
As I reflect on this past year where I’ve made and released an album and merch, represented myself at conferences, and formed my first band, I’m amazed that in the coming weeks I will be making a music video, having my website redesigned, and triumphantly launching a PR campaign and tour.
Please wish me luck as I guide Studio Sarah Records and Studio Sarah Music Publishing on our second year and all the years to come! Power to the artist!

So far I’m really enjoying Tumblr. I don’t feel so much pressure to write a long life-changing post like on my personal blogs. I’m trying this post out from the Tumblr iPhone app. This app had great reviews in the iTunes store and I think so far I would agree with that.
The only thing I’m noticing is that I can’t turn the keyboard sideways. This would improve my typing speed and accuracy. But I’m getting by.

I’m always listening to recommendations, especially from Christopher Lars Carlson, my music biz loving twitter friend. This is a link to his blog post that convinced me to check out Tumblr. I hope I can find a way to integrate it with my twitter and blogging habits!
